Onyx
Meet Onyx; He is a big beautiful boy; purebred German Shepherd. He 100% needs a person that is familiar with the breed. He and two others landed 'hard' at the Humane Society, after their owner unfortunately passed away. The other two have been adopted and doing great in their forever homes. Now we need to get this big guy his forever home.
He is around 6.5 years old. Lived with cats at one point. He did get into a fight with his 'son' while living at his former home. In my opinion he would do best in a single dog household. He needs attention and work; mostly manners, being his age, he is set in his ways, but that does not mean he can’t be taught NEW ways. He sometimes gets over excited will jump up and be mouthy (he is getting alot better about it) as I stated prior, he will need training. Before here I don’t think he really knew what a leash was. He will need work on potty training as well. Unsure of being around children, we have no way of knowing. A good confident person will have no problems training him up to be a GREAT dog!
He’s a good listener, and being his breed they are super smart and fast learners. But he NEEDS to be in a home setting in order to achieve those goals. He has such a sweet personality it pains me that he is still sitting at our shelter. With patience and consistency he will be amazing. He needs his forever home.
He loves going outside with his toy while holding it in his mouth; German Shepherds need to have a 'job' to keep their mind sharp, that is his job at the moment...it’s the cutest thing. It’s like his safety blanket.
He will need a firm hand but with training and patience he will make someone a great loving dog. Remember that change does not happen overnight.
Triton
Meet Triton; the biggest 68lb baby you'll ever meet, who loves to jump up and just be held in your arms. He had a hard landing, as he and another came to us from a tragic accident of a home fire and his owner sadly passed. So imagine how confused and scared he is/was. He needs to be in a single dog household (meaning he is the only one).
Triton is going on 4.5 years old, so still a young pup. Lots of love to give. He walks great on a leash, and loves playing fetch. Also LOVES HUGGING! He has unfortunately been in fights in the past with other dogs, so him being the only dog is a MUST. Not sure about cats. If you have children in the home we would need a meet and greet with the whole family to ensure a great fit.
He has the most beautiful brown eyes, and with those adorable brown circles around them, makes them pop even more.
With a little patience, basic training, some potty training (he does well though), and once he gets the confidence he is supposed to have he's going to be a great addition to his forever home. Most importantly kindness!
Don't let his breed (pit bull mix) stop you from coming to meet this handsome guy, he's worth the 10 minutes of filling out an application, and once approved you are able to meet him. He will change your mind in the first ten minutes of meeting him. Poor baby has been in the shelter since Nov. 24' let's get this handsome guy a home
Spike
Spike has jumped through hurtles to be here today; poor guy has had it rough. He is a 9-year-old Pitbull mix. He’s been in multiple fights so will need to be an ONLY dog household. From those fights he has sustained multiple injuries causing him to have a limp in his front right shoulder. With his stay here he seems to have anxiety, not sure if he had these issues before hand or not, he also drools a lot while barking. He will need vet care though out his life, there is no getting around that. As stated, he’s been through a lot. He will most likely have arthritis so plan on medicine for that. He does great while out on a leash, unless he sees another dog. Unsure about children in the household, and cats. He’s super sweet once he’s calmed down and loves his treats. He’s really good boy. He will need a lot of time and patience with his new humans. Remember change does not happen overnight.
